Leduc County Fire Services

The Town of Calmar and Leduc County Fire Services have worked together to provide local fire protection and emergency response services since 2017. That year, the County built a new fire station at the south end of Calmar and began providing fire services through a service agreement with the Town.

Today, the Calmar Fire Station serves the town and surrounding county area with support from paid on-call firefighters who live and work in the community. Paid on-call firefighters respond to a variety of emergencies – including but not limited to residential, rural and industrial fire calls and vehicle collisions – and help keep our communities safe.

Firefighters typically respond to about 70 incidents in the town and another 64 incidents in the surrounding area each year.

Our firefighters are your neighbours. They are dedicated community members who step forward to help protect their friends, families and neighbours when an emergency happens. Without these brave members of our community, there would be no local firefighters available to respond.

Interested in becoming one of Leduc County’s paid on-call firefighters? Recruitment takes place annually, beginning in September. Successful applicants receive comprehensive training that prepares them to respond safely and effectively to a wide range of emergencies.
