World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD). On this day, we acknowledge and recog-nize elder abuse as a public health and human rights issue.
Everyone is encouraged to wear purple on June 15 to show support for WEAAD. In addition to
wearing purple, Leduc County Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is recognizing
WEAAD in the following three ways:
- Canada Revenue Agency workshop
- Elder abuse awareness workshop
- Plant a seed for change
