Calmar Peace Officers

Calmar employs a Director of Protective Services and two full-time Peace Officers appointed by the Solicitor General of the Province of Alberta. These personnel are responsible for the enforcement of all Provincial Statutes and Regulations as well as the municipal bylaws. We have active mutual aid agreements in place with the City of Leduc and the County of Leduc, and have current contracts with the Villages of Thorsby, Warburg and Breton.

The department has implemented and followed through on such programs as Calmar Citizens On Patrol, child safety seat inspections clinics, school talks and presentations, bike and bike helmet safety programs, and working in conjunction with the local emergency services on educational check stops such as the annual Santa Check Stop.
